SY 2018/2019

Hello Sacaton Community.

I am so excited to be here with you.  My husband was a dentist here in Sacaton in the mid-1990s, so I have some history here.  I come to you with experience in teaching 1st grade and 3rd grade extensively.  I started our first after school tutoring, before the 21st Century Grant was ever a thing, and focused on reteach and enrichment for K – 5th grades. I have been an assistant principal, principal of Juvenile Detention, and principal of two elementary schools in Red Mesa and Round Rock.  I am gifted endorsed and am National Board Certified in Early Childhood Literacy.  I have worked with Native American children my entire teaching career.  I have lived in Page for the last 25 years and raised three children of my own, and many others with family friends.  I have been very involved in Girl Scouts.  I took two different troops from Daisy to Seniors and earned the Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards with both troops.  I was a 4-H leader for swine, sheep, and poultry.  My children also competed with steers, goats, rabbits, Guinee pigs, and equine (horses).  I have also coached volleyball, softball, soccer, basketball, and little league baseball.  I didn’t do as much in Boy Scouts because mom’s only can help when the boys are little, but I was in for the ride while my son earned his Eagle Scout award.

My philosophy for my career is that all children can learn and it is my job to give them the opportunity to do so.  I have been formally trained with Kagan strategies, Fundations, PBIS, Synergy, and have attended the master gardener class so I can play in the orchard as well.

In leadership, I don’t believe in “executive” decisions and always collaborate vertically and horizontally, and base all outcomes on what is best for students.  I believe and live my life as a servant leadership style. I will always represent SESD with honor and respect and do what I can, when I can, every time I can for our students. I can’t wait for this year to roll out and we all start growing together.  Our future is very bright and I feel the excitement buzzing in the air.  Together we can.  YES!!!

First, I want to recognize each and every staff member for the dedication, talent, energy and care you bring to school each day. Educating our students for a successful future is important and influential work. We continue to focus on improvement and finding ways to leverage our resources—people, time, dollars and relationships—toward boosting success for students and creating the system of strong and excellent schools of which our community can be justifiably proud. Together, we are making a visible difference for our students, families and community.      Read more from Mrs. Paul.
