Community Technology Center

Serving the Gila River Indian Community

The Community Technology Center (CTC) continually strives to meet the need in technology/education for the Gila River Indian Community. CTC staff maintains high standards in providing services and strives to uphold a positive outlook working toward the advancement of technology/education in a field that changes so rapidly. Our time is spent on various tasks and educational activities that serve our participants with educational and technical programs that best prepare them to meet today’s digital challenges. As we continue our work throughout the year, the Community Technology Center staff attends various trainings in order to enhance their skills in math, extended response, technology, as well as other technology topics to better serve our clients. The Community Technology Staff continues to serve the community with the highest quality in technology and education they can provide.

Many students in the GRIC have inquired about and are engaged in the GED classes which are offered at the CTC Lab. CTC staff members are on hand to continually assist GRIC community students as they engage in the GED programs. Additionally, as the Spring Semester is now in full swing at the colleges, CTC staff members are working with students taking online classes making sure the Blackboard support software, the GED classes themselves, and the testing sites are readily accessible. Community members are finding it more convenient to have access and be able to take online classes in the Community Technology Center. The Community Technology Center offers assistance if and when needed to all of the dedicated community participants.

Microsoft Office training in Word, Access, Excel and Power Point keeps staff busy as we have many community members taking these classes. It is a great pleasure watching these community students using the skills taught to them in the CTC Lab. CTC staff also works in conjunction with other departments to help provide technology training. The CTC staff is collaborating with different departments as well as researching and finding programs that will help enhance the technology/GED skills of our users. This remains a primary focus for the CTC staff; participants will become more knowledgeable and better users of technology with our efforts.

The goal of the Community Technology Center is to provide quality service to the participants who utilize the Community Technology Center. We strive to do the best job and maintain a high standard in doing so.
