Superintendent's Message

May 23, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians of our Sacaton Students:

Our school year has ended, and summer vacation has begun! What an extraordinary year it has been filled with countless achievements and experiences. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have worked side-by-side with us and our staff to meet the needs of your children. As our students head home for the well-deserved summer break, I want to publicly commend our teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, and all support staff for some truly remarkable accomplishments. Our classrooms are stronger than ever and our students are back on track to learning.

Mark your calendars! Meet the Teacher will be on July 28, 2023 and the First Day of School is July 31, 2023.

I wish you and your family a fun-filled summer! Time spent together is so important for the health and well-being of the family. As a mother of two grown daughters, our children’s school years pass all too quickly. Treasure this time. Have a wonderful summer!

With warm regards,
Dr. Lynnette Michalski, Superintendent

Dear Parents/Guardians of our Sacaton Students:

Spring break is upon us! I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful time with friends and family.  I trust that we will stay revitalized as we conclude the school year. In April, our 3rd-8th grade students will be taking the Arizona state assessment.  During this testing season, we need your support to ensure that your child receives a peaceful night’s sleep, eats a nutritious breakfast, and your help in encouraging your child to answer all of the questions the best they can.  Our students have worked very hard all year long and we know these test results will show incredible growth in their knowledge.

We’re down to the last few weeks of school.  It’s amazing how fast the school year is progressing along.
Before you know it, the 2023/2024 school year will be here.  Early kindergarten registration will be held at our elementary school on April 13th from 4:00-5:00 pm. Your child must be five years old by September 1, 2013, in order to register.  Please bring the following documents with you:  a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, and names and phone numbers of emergency contacts. If you cannot attend the April 13th registration day, just stop by the office after that date and pick up the enrollment packet.

Finally, here are some important dates to put in your calendar:
  • Kindergarten Round-Up - April 13, 2023 4:00-5:00 pm
  • Preschool Transition Meeting - May 15, 2023 2:00 pm
  • Preschool Promotion - May 16, 2023
  • 8th Grade Promotion - May 23, 2023
  • Kindergarten Promotion - May 24, 2023 9:00 am
  • Last Day of School - May 25, 2023

With warm regards,
Dr. Lynnette Michalski, Superintendent

December 1, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians of our Sacaton Students,

As we enter this winter season, now is the time to slow the spread of the cold and flu viruses. In an effort to keep everyone healthy, I am encouraging our staff and students to wear a mask, get a good night's sleep, drink water, and stay home if you feel sick.

Let's stay healthy and happy as we begin the holiday celebrations!

Thank you,
Dr. Lynnette Michalski, Superintendent
Sacaton Elementary School District #18

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

Welcome to Sacaton Elementary School District and welcome to another fabulous school year! The staff and I are looking forward to working with you and your children this year. The last two years have been challenging but we have great news. Students are allowed to return to in-person learning whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. We will continue to follow all GRIC Health guidelines as well as continue to offer virtual learning. We will also continue to have on-site COVID testing for our staff and students. We are committed to the health and wellness of our students and staff.

We have placed a high priority on providing a nurturing environment where children and young adults thrive -academically, socially, and emotionally. Our entire faculty and staff have joined together in the belief that a viable educational program creates the foundation for future success.

Sacaton Elementary School and Sacaton Middle School are committed to providing an exceptional learning environment for our students and a welcoming place for our parents and community. We are committed to the PreK-8 concept and are partnering together to provide a higher level of support, professionalism, and open communication for our community.

On behalf of our entire staff, we look forward to meeting and working with you throughout the school year. I welcome your thoughts and comments for improving our district throughout the school year. Together, we can, and will, make a difference!
