Tug of War

Our 5th and 6th graders went on a field trip to ASU in January. The 5th grade went to the ASU Poly Tech campus in Mesa. The 6th grade went to the main campus in Tempe. The 6th grade also toured Sun Devil Stadium. As they were touring Sun Devil stadium, they got to meet one of ASU's best players, who happens to be Native; #1 Xavier Guillory. For many of the students, their favorite part of the trip was lunch. Both 5th and 6th grade ate at the "Pitch Fork." Most of the students were overwhelmed with the choices. They could have pizza, hamburgers, or any Asian dish made to order. The Pitch Fork had a taco bar and of course ice cream.

We had a "Family Night" in January.   We partnered with the Elementary School.  Principal Celis has done an outstanding job of living the motto "two schools, one voice."  We collaborate every day.  Over 175 people attended  Family Night . Our Food Service Director, Will Trotter, made a catered meal. Will served Chili Stew.  We gave out a dozen Walmart gift cards for our Bingo winners.  It was a good night had by all.
