August News

Hello Sacaton Families,

We are excited to share that we’ve had a fantastic beginning to the school year! Most of our beginning-of-year benchmark testing is now complete, giving us a strong baseline for student academics as we plan for continued growth. Classrooms have proudly posted their Social Contracts, setting clear expectations and building strong connections as part of our Capturing Kids’ Hearts program. We’re thrilled to keep this momentum going throughout the year!

Our student attendance incentives have already kicked off, students with strong attendance recently enjoyed a refreshing snack to celebrate their commitment to being here every day. Each week, we continue our Brave Ticket drawings, recognizing students who demonstrate positive behavior.

Be sure to ask your child about their college acceptance letter, part of our effort to inspire college and career readiness from an early age! Students can earn points for both attendance and academics for their colleges, with points awarded weekly by teachers. And it’s not just the students, our staff is participating in a college experience too, modeling the excitement of lifelong learning.

We’ve also started the year by equipping students for success, each child received three school shirts, a water bottle, and will be bringing home a school calendar magnet soon.

As we prepare for the year ahead, we encourage all families to stay informed and engaged. Please read the latest edition of our district newsletter for important updates.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and partnership. Every decision we make is centered on providing your child with a high-quality learning experience every single day. We can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together this year!

In partnership,

Stephanie Celis

Dress Code

To help create a focused and respectful learning environment, all students are expected to wear their school shirts or a white, purple, or yellow polo shirt with dark bottoms each day. School shirts have been provided, where each student received three shirts to start the year. Hoodies are not part of the dress code and should not be worn to school. In addition, clothing with inappropriate or distracting logos is not allowed. By helping your child come to school dressed for success, you're supporting a positive and productive learning space for all.

Arrival and Dismissal

To ensure a smooth and safe end to our school day, students begin leaving classrooms at 2:45 PM. If you need to pick up your child early, please do so before 2:45 PM. Any pick-ups after that time will need to wait until regular dismissal at the designated pick-up location. This helps us avoid classroom disruptions and ensures every student is accounted for during these important final minutes of the day.

These updates are designed with your child’s safety in mind, and we appreciate your support as we make these improvements. As always, we welcome your feedback and are here to answer any questions. For transportation specific information please contact dispatch at 520-562-8600, ext. 3044
