Hello Sacaton Families,
The school year is off to an amazing start! It’s hard to believe we are already entering the second week of September. Our students have been busy mastering new skills, forming friendships, and discovering new interests.
We kicked off the year with our first assembly recognizing students with exemplary attendance. Our “Students Must Be Present to Win” initiative is designed to celebrate students who maintain consistent attendance at 10, 20, and 30 days in a row while supporting our school-wide goal of increasing overall attendance.
We’re excited to invite you to Math and Literacy Night on September 25th from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the Elementary School Gym. This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in hands-on activities with your child’s teacher and enjoy interactive make-and-take learning experiences together.
On Friday, September 19th, 2025, Sacaton Elementary School District will proudly recognize Native American Day. This special day provides us the opportunity to honor and celebrate the rich traditions, culture, and contributions of the Gila River Indian Community. It is both a time of remembrance for past generations and a celebration of the present, embracing the Himthag in a meaningful and prideful way.
As part of our commitment to educating the whole child, we also recognize September as Suicide Prevention Month. We encourage you to partner with us by engaging in meaningful conversations with your children, offering support when and where it may be needed.
Finally, Picture Day is scheduled for September 30th. Students may dress up for their Fall pictures, which will be featured in the yearbook. Please remember that clothing must still be school-appropriate.
I look forward to continuing to build a strong partnership with you as we work together to ensure that our school community remains safe, healthy, and excited about learning. Thank you for your ongoing support with student attendance and for staying connected with our teachers and school team.
Go Braves!
