Middle School Building

Dear Sacaton Families and Community Members,

We hope you are enjoying a restful and safe Fall Break. As we prepare for the start of the second quarter on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, we are excited to share an important update that directly supports the continued growth and success of our students.

Due to significant enrollment gains in our 7th and 8th grade classes, the Sacaton Elementary School District #18 will be adding an additional class section at both grade levels. To support this change, we are welcoming new teachers to the 7th and 8th grade teams. This move is being made with one clear purpose: to reduce class sizes and ensure that every student receives the attention and support they need to succeed.

These changes come as part of a newly drafted Middle School schedule that balances teacher and student workloads while expanding access to our specialized subject areas. With the new schedule, all Middle School students will regularly engage with our music, library, physical education, art, and culture programs—while continuing to receive a strong foundation in the core academic areas of math, language arts, science, and social studies.

Reducing class sizes allows our educators to better manage classroom behavior and provide more individualized instruction. Currently, the large class sizes in grades 7 and 8 have made this difficult. Smaller classes mean fewer distractions, more opportunities for personal growth, and a learning environment where teachers can teach, and students can learn—safely and effectively.

We are confident these changes will have a positive impact on student behavior, academic achievement, and overall school climate. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we grow and evolve to meet the needs of our students and families.
