Sacaton Elementary School District #18 welcomes new and returning families and looks forward to serving every student. Student enrollment takes place at the school building serving the student’s grade level.
After enrollment documents have been submitted, the District will request the student’s academic, attendance, special education, health, and other relevant records from the previous school. Once the records are received, District staff will begin the placement process.
During this process, the student’s information will be reviewed to identify academic strengths and support needs. The student will be placed within the appropriate level of the District’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This helps ensure that each student receives the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support needed to be successful.
Before the student’s first day, the District will also:
Assign the student to the appropriate classroom and teacher.
Inform the teacher of the student’s enrollment and educational needs.
Prepare appropriate lessons and instructional materials.
Arrange a desk and necessary computer equipment.
Notify transportation and other student-support departments.
Confirm that required services and supports are ready.
The enrollment and placement process will take a minimum of two school days and may take as many as five school days, depending on how quickly records are received and whether transportation or additional services must be arranged.
Sacaton Elementary School District #18 wants to enroll and welcome every eligible student. At the same time, we must ensure that everything is properly in place before bringing a student into a classroom. Beginning school without the teacher, transportation department, technology staff, and student-support teams being properly informed and prepared does not provide the student with the best possible start.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work carefully to complete each enrollment correctly. Our goal is not simply to place students in classrooms—it is to prepare each student, teacher, and support team for a successful first day.
