Dear Sacaton Middle School Families,
It is my privilege to serve as the principal of Sacaton Middle School. Although I am not an Arizona native, this will be my 25th year living in Arizona, my 24th year in education, and my 8th year as a principal. Each day, I continue to learn more about our community and the wonderful students we serve.
At Sacaton Middle School, we are committed to meeting the individual academic needs of every student. Regardless of the level at which a student enters our school, we are prepared to provide the instruction and interventions necessary to support their growth and success. Our beginning-of-the-year benchmark assessments have been completed, and students are becoming familiar with our new and powerful SuccessMaker program. This program provides personalized learning opportunities designed to help students make significant academic gains throughout the school year.
Our girls’ volleyball team is off to a great start! We are excited to see so many students participating in athletics this quarter. We invite our families and community members to support our student-athletes at our upcoming home games on September 2 and September 8 at 4:30 p.m.
Picture Day is scheduled for September 22. Students are welcome to dress up for the occasion so they can look and feel their best for their school pictures.
Our annual Math & Literacy Night will be held on Thursday, September 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the elementary school gym. We hope you will join us for an evening of family fun, learning, and engaging activities.
Students have also adapted very well to our new “Away for the Day” electronics policy. As a result of fewer distractions from personal electronic devices, we are seeing improved focus in the classroom, fewer behavior concerns, and an overall positive impact on our school environment.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. I look forward to a wonderful school year filled with growth, learning, and success for all of our students.
